	The ESRI Canada 2001 Award for innovation in the field of Geographic Information Systems was presented to NewEdge Technologies Inc. on September 6, 2001.
			"The Award of Excellence is going to a very deserving organization that is doing innovative work using Internet mapping technology," said Alex Miller, President of ESRI Canada, the leading geographic information systems (GIS) provider in Canada “Their Internet work is leading edge and their efforts should be commended.” Mr. Miller presented the Award in recognition of NewEdge Technologies innovative application of Internet mapping technology and the MAPEZE toolset. More than 100 GIS professionals were on hand for the presentation, which was one of the highlights of the sixth annual ESRI Regional User Conference.
